Why do you love your work?

I love saving lives. It may seem like an odd thing to say from a structural engineer, but we take the public safety into our hands with every design we do.

Favorite project:

I have two: My first was the Seven Trees Community Center as it was the first building I got to work on as a young engineer and learned a ton while working on it. Plus, it has won a few awards, so that is nice too. The second one is the Carlmont High School Music Building. This was my first big project that I worked on from schematic design through the completion of construction.

Favorite project type:

I always enjoy a nice new building but I love working on retrofitting an existing building for a new purpose. I have done a lot of high tech and clean room projects that require a lot of critical thinking and problem solving to be able to get the project to fit within all the constraints posed by the existing building. 

Special Interests:

I enjoy staying active and healthy. Activities range from power lifting to training for an Ironman. I also enjoy spending time outdoors camping, fishing, relaxing, and getting away from technology and the daily grind.
