Why do you love your work?

I love the satisfaction of being able to help people solve problems and actually see those solutions going from paper to reality.

Why did you become an engineer?

I've always wanted to be helpful and make a positive impact in other people's lives. This brought me down the path of civil engineering because civil engineers impact everything from water resources to skyscrapers to help make society better. Eventually I narrowed it down to structural engineering because it's literally more concrete.

Special interests outside of work:

Currently my special interests outside of work include tennis, learning a new recipe every week, slowly improving my Chinese on Duolingo, and watching video essays on YouTube.

Little known fact about yourself:

I have gone on three 50 mile backpacking trips in California. I was a fencing club in college.
